Job Summary/ Job Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with Tax compliance in Insurance domain. In this role, you will be responsible for performing and reviewing the surplus line tax filing for US Insurance brokers / MGAs / Carriers. This role involves ensuring compliance with state regulations, preparing and submitting tax filings, and providing support to the Tax Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax compliance, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Objectives and Major Responsibilities:

  • Tax Filing Process:
    • Prepare and submit complex surplus line tax filings in compliance with state regulations
    • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all required tax documents
    • Validate required documents and forms to ensure accurate filing
    • Review of filings submitted to the state
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state surplus line tax laws and regulations.
    • Prepare and submit tax return filing to the state
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Prepare and review tax reports and documentation for accuracy and completeness
    • Assist in the development and implementation of tax compliance policies and procedures.
    • Reconcile filings with system records
  • Audit Support:
    • Provide support during tax audits and examinations.
    • Gather and organize documentation required for audits.
    • Communication with state to avoid any issues
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with the Tax Manager and other team members to ensure seamless tax filing processes.
    • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for tax filings.
    • Train other team members on the filing process
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
    • Utilize technology and software to streamline tax filing processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Tax filing , R2R process
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
