Samal, vice president of the catastrophe and exposure management unit at Xceedance, is recognized in the fourth annual “Influential Women in Re/Insurance” edition. This international recognition program identifies “female executives excelling in, and changing, the risk transfer industry.” The publication celebrates an increase in diversity and showcases the number of highly talented women who are making significant impact in the insurance sector.

As one of the first leadership hires, Samal joined Xceedance just two months after the company’s launch in 2013. She oversees CAT modeling and exposure management solutions and services, and her team supports the business operations of clients across North America, Europe, Australia and Southeast Asia. Samal has more than 10 years of experience in the areas of individual risk-based pricing, overall portfolio optimization and management, model validation, and client and operations management. She has assisted in the application of models in risk decision making, designed custom solutions for clients, and managed substantial teams of analysts.
