SHANTANU GAUR

Shantanu Gaur leads the India A&A team at Xceedance. He has over 15 years of experience in traditional actuarial roles of reserving and pricing in insurance and reinsurance companies as well as expertise in leadership, strategy, creating IT & data requirements and portfolio analytics.

Prior to joining Xceedance, Shantanu held the position as Cluster Head for Property and Casualty Underwriting in India (Swiss Re Asia Hub) where he led a 10+ member team of actuarial professionals and cat modelling experts. He was responsible for providing actuarial costing to four underwriting desks in Asia (Japan, China, Australia and Singapore) for their treaty business, portfolio analytics and had underwriting authority for several casualty lines of business. Prior positions were held at Royal Sundaram General Insurance Company, Max Bupa Health Insurance Company and Reliance General Insurance company.

Shantanu is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India and an associate of the Insurance Institute of India. He has a master’s degree in business administration from National Insurance Academy School of Management, Pune and a bachelor’s degree in Agriculture engineering from C.S.A.U.A.&T. India.
