Rajesh Iyer has joined Xceedance as senior vice president – head of data sciences.
With more than 20 years of insurance experience, Rajesh has worked with leading U.S. insurers and service providers, including Nationwide, USAA, Mu Sigma and EXL. Most recently, he worked as vice president, decision analytics at EXL in New York where he led numerous data initiatives for top 10 P&C and L&A carriers. Rajesh also led multiple projects to deploy the power of analytics to improve and optimize operational outcomes. Prior to that, he was executive director, comparative pricing at USAA and as director of client management at Mu Sigma in Chicago.
Insurance data sciences is the application of a smart mix of domain expertise, technology, statistics, machine learning and learning theory to achieve insurance business objectives. The challenges that data sciences can address span the full insurance value chain, including product design, pricing, underwriting, marketing, claims, finance, customer service.
“Data sciences is becoming increasingly prevalent in the industry, mobilizing insurers to leverage all manner of internal, external, structured and unstructured data to inform strategic decisions,” Rajesh explained. “The insight-driven outcomes of Data Sciences can improve the performance of insurers and support their abilities to optimize customer experience.”
With Rajesh on board, Xceedance can capitalize on data sciences trends in the industry and deliver truly formative solutions. His role will include the development of a dedicated data sciences and services team to support clients and new initiatives. He will also collaborate with the broader Xceedance service delivery teams worldwide to create strategic data products and analytic tools.
